Key
Responsibilities
As an Accountant at RMI, you will
play a pivotal role in the finance department. Your responsibilities include:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare profit and loss statements, monthly
closings, and cost accounting reports.
- Compile and analyze financial information for general
ledger entries.
- Document all business transactions systematically to
ensure transparency and accountability.
- Budget & Expenditure Management
- Analyze and review budgets, expenditures, and
financial plans for local, state, federal, donor-funded, and
grant-supported projects.
- Monitor revenue and expenditure trends, recommending appropriate
budget adjustments.
- Ensure expenditure control to maintain
financial discipline.
- Accounting Systems & Control
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation
of accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Supervise the input and handling of financial data
in automated systems.
- Maintain and develop financial databases,
accounting software, and manual filing systems.
- Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors,
providing all necessary documentation.
- Facilitate external audits efficiently and ensure
compliance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and
resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Explain billing invoices, accounting procedures, and
financial policies to staff, vendors, and clients.
- Produce clear and accurate financial reports
for management and board members.
- Support decision-making by providing analytical
insights on financial performance and projections.
- Process Improvement & Innovation
- Review and enhance financial recording and
monitoring processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation, system
improvements, and efficiency gains.
- Maintain a financial reporting calendar,
ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Other Duties
- Undertake any finance-related tasks assigned by the
supervisor that align with institutional objectives.
Minimum
Qualifications
Eligible candidates must meet one
of the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance,
Management (Finance/Accounting specialization), or Business
Administration (Finance/Accounting specialization)
- Accounting professional qualifications recognized by
IFAC (ACCA, CPA) are a strong advantage
- 0 years of work experience required – fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
