Position Overview: Data Manager A1/Ao
The Data Manager A1/Ao plays a central role in ensuring
that health data collected at health facilities is accurate, complete,

Summary of Overall Role and Responsibilities
As a Data Manager at Gicumbi District, your primary mission will be to:
· Collect,
maintain, and analyze health data in line with hospital and district
management plans
· Ensure
that health facility staff understand how to properly collect, use, and
interpret data
· Support
evidence-based decision-making through high-quality data
reporting
You will work closely with health facility staff, supervisors,
monitoring & evaluation teams, and district leadership.
Key Duties and Tasks
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the
following:
1. Data Collection and Quality Assurance
· Ensure
timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of data collected from
health facilities
· Supervise
staff responsible for data collection, entry, and tabulation
· Conduct
routine data quality checks and validation exercises
2. Data Analysis and Reporting
· Analyze
health facility data and produce hospital statistics
· Interpret
data and present findings in tables, charts, and graphs
· Consolidate
reports from different departments, services, and projects
3. HMIS and Disease Surveillance
· Prepare
and submit HMIS monthly reports
· Compile
and submit reports related to:
o
Birth audits
o
Death audits
o
Disease surveillance
o
Other mandatory health reports
4. Supervision and Support
· Supervise
health centers in the catchment area to verify data reliability and
quality
· Provide
technical support and mentorship to data clerks and health workers
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research
· Participate
in hospital operational research activities
· Support
monitoring and evaluation (M&E) initiatives
· Take
part in internal and external data quality assessments (DQAs)
6. Other Duties
· Perform
any other tasks assigned by your supervisor in line with the role
