As a Senior Construction Engineer, you will:

  • Lead civil/structural engineering designs, calculations, layout plans, and detailing.
  • Participate in preparing project proposals and accurate cost estimates.
  • Develop architectural and engineering design concepts aligned with user needs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with national laws, planning guidelines, procurement policies, and professional codes.
  • Interpret project briefs and define technical directions and priorities.

  • OR Bachelor’s in Geotechnical Engineering + 5 years
  • OR Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering + 3 years
  • OR Master’s in Civil Engineering + 3 years
  • OR Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering + 5 years
  • OR Master in Structural Engineering + 3 years
  • OR Bachelor in Structural Engineering + 5 years

This is a senior-level role requiring proven technical and leadership skills.

2. TVET Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer

This is one of the most technical, in-demand roles in the engineering sector.
It requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, and MEP system integration.

 Important: You must be registered with the Institution of Engineers Rwanda (IER) and hold a valid practicing certificate.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Review MEP designs, specifications, and drawings for compliance with NFPA, IEC, ASHRAE, and local standards.
  • Evaluate energy efficiency, systems integration, and sustainability.
  • Participate in value engineering and technical optimization.

3. Quantity Surveyor (QS) at Rwanda TVET Board (RTB)

Quantity Surveyors play a crucial role in cost control, budgeting, tendering, and contract evaluation in government infrastructure.

Must be registered with the Institution of Quantity Surveyors and hold a valid practicing certificate.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct feasibility studies for upcoming construction and refurbishment projects.
  • Review and verify BoQs prepared by external consultants.
  • Develop detailed BoQs and Schedules of Quantities for public projects.
  • Perform cost analysis, risk management, and value engineering.
  • Monitor construction progress and recommend corrective measures.
