About the Role: Machine Learning Engineer

Ampersand is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI systems that drive efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.

This role involves working with large datasets, developing predictive models, and integrating AI into real-world systems that power Africa’s e-mobility ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

1. Model Development

· Design and build machine learning models for prediction, classification, clustering, optimization, and recommendation systems.

· Choose the right algorithms based on business problems and data characteristics.

2. Data Preparation

· Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets.

· Apply feature engineering to enhance model performance.

3. Model Evaluation and Validation

· Use robust evaluation metrics to test accuracy and generalization.

· Conduct cross-validation and fix bias or overfitting issues.

4. Deployment and Maintenance

· Deploy ML models into production environments for real-time use.
