Position:
Branch Manager
The Branch Manager is a key
leadership position responsible for the smooth operation, profitability, and
growth of a UFC branch. The successful candidate will oversee sales, lending,
customer service, and staff management, ensuring that all targets are met and
exceeded.
This position requires strategic
thinking, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of microfinance operations.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Branch Manager at
Umutanguha Finance Company Plc, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Branch
Performance and Profitability
- Achieve branch performance targets, including loan
portfolio quality, savings volume, revenue, and client growth.
- Monitor risk control measures and ensure profitability
through efficient resource utilization.
Customer
Relationship and Credit Management
- Conduct field visits to assess loan applicants
and evaluate their businesses.
- Lead and participate in branch loan committee
meetings to review loan applications.
- Monitor loan repayments and implement recovery
strategies for overdue accounts.
- Offer advisory support to borrowers to enhance business
success.
Financial
and Operational Management
- Manage branch funds, cash flow, and accounting
systems.
- Supervise cashiers, verify daily cash balances, and
maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and National
Bank of Rwanda regulations.
Staff
Leadership and Capacity Building
- Motivate, coach, and develop staff to improve
productivity and customer service.
- Organize regular staff training programs and
performance reviews.
- Maintain a healthy, team-oriented work culture.
Marketing
and Community Engagement
- Develop and implement a branch marketing plan
that aligns with company objectives.
- Build strong relationships with local authorities,
community leaders, and stakeholders.
- Suggest to management strategies that enhance branch
performance and customer outreach.
Reporting
and Continuous Improvement
- Provide regular reports on branch activities and
financial performance.
- Analyze market trends and recommend innovative
approaches to improve services.
Required
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this position,
applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Banking, or Business Management.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a bank or microfinance institution,
including at least 1 year in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French.
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel,
and knowledge of ICBS Core Banking System.
- In-depth understanding of microfinance operations,
credit management, and risk analysis.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and negotiation
skills.
- Willingness to work in any UFC branch across Rwanda.
