Job Purpose

The Credit Reporting Officer will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and reporting on credit data, ensuring compliance with BNR (National Bank of Rwanda) regulations and KCB’s internal credit policies.

The successful candidate will prepare and maintain all loan portfolio reports, support management decisions with accurate data, and coordinate all reporting to external regulatory bodies.

Main Responsibilities

As a Credit Reporting Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed credit and loan portfolio reports for management and regulators.
  • Submitting weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to BNR and CRB in line with statutory requirements.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance to avoid penalties and audit exceptions.
  • Performing portfolio risk analysis — tracking sectorial concentration and exposure limits.
  • Providing accurate, timely, and data-driven insights on loan performance.
  • Supporting internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance.
  • Maintaining accurate CRB (Credit Reference Bureau) data and responding to client inquiries about credit records.
  • Coordinating with KCB Group Credit teams to align credit portfolio management across regions.

Daily Tasks

  • Provide credit data updates and responses to internal teams, management, and regulators.
  • Prepare and submit statutory credit returns on time.
  • Identify irregularities in credit data and recommend corrective actions.
  • Update and reconcile data between credit systems and reporting tools.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all credit reporting operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A Professional Banking or Credit Risk Certification is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in credit reporting, financial analysis, or banking.

Core Skills:

  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial reporting proficiency.
  • Deep understanding of BNR credit policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
