1. Job Summary: Accountant Officer
The Accountant Officer will ensure
the company’s financial data is accurate, reliable, and compliant with Rwanda’s
accounting standards. This role includes:
- Managing hire-and-purchase transactions
- Ensuring proper VAT declarations
- Maintaining stock and inventory records
- Preparing financial reports
- Using QuickBooks for all accounting entries
- Supporting internal and external audits
This is a perfect role for candidates
with solid accounting experience and strong attention to detail.
2. Key Responsibilities
Hire
& Purchase Management
- Record all hire and lease transactions
- Prepare monthly financial summaries
- Reconcile income with bank statements
- Support client payment follow-up
Stock
& Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate stock registers
- Perform monthly + quarterly stock counts
- Reconcile QuickBooks inventory records
- Document all stock adjustments
VAT & RRA Compliance
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns
- Maintain accurate RRA documentation
- Support tax inspections when needed
- Ensure full tax compliance
Financial Reporting
- Record all financial transactions in QuickBooks
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Organize financial documents for audits
Audit & Internal Controls
- Support auditors by providing required files
- Implement audit recommendations
- Strengthen internal control systems
Time
Management & Learning
- Meet finance deadlines consistently
- Learn and adapt to new systems
- Contribute to process improvements
3. Key Deliverables
- Accurate monthly financial reports
- Timely VAT declarations
- Updated QuickBooks ledger
- Audit-ready documentation
4. Qualifications & Experience Needed
To qualify, candidates must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or
Business Administration
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting
(hire-purchase experience is an added advantage)
- Strong understanding of RRA tax procedures
- Professional experience with QuickBooks
- Excellent reporting and organizational skills
5. Reporting Structure
You will report directly to the Finance
Controller and work closely with Operations and Procurement teams.
6. Ethical Conduct

Handling financial data responsibly
is mandatory.
7. Language Requirements
- Fluent Kinyarwanda
- Strong English
