About Youth For Christ Rwanda
Youth For Christ Rwanda is a
long-standing Christian missionary movement dedicated to youth evangelism,
discipleship, leadership development, and social transformation. Through
its growing educational arm, Kigali Christian School (KCS) — operating
campuses in Kigali, Rwamagana, and Gicumbi — YFC equips young people
spiritually, academically, and socially.
To strengthen internal operations
and enhance staff performance across all ministries, YFC/Rwanda is now
recruiting an experienced Human Resources Manager with an indefinite
contract.
Position: Human Resources Manager
Contract Type: Indefinite
Reports To: Director of Administration & Finance (DAF)
Serves: All YFC/Rwanda departments and Kigali Christian Schools
While placed under the KCS payroll,
the HR Manager serves the entire YFC/Rwanda structure, ensuring
fairness, compliance, consistency, and alignment with the organization’s
Christian identity.
Role Summary
The Human Resources Manager will
provide strategic leadership, HR oversight, and operational excellence
across YFC/Rwanda. You will guide recruitment, payroll, performance management,
staff development, employee relations, and compliance while promoting a
Christ-centered workplace culture.
This role requires a leader with
integrity, emotional intelligence, HR expertise, and a deep commitment to
Christian values.
Key Responsibilities
1.
HR Strategy & Organizational Leadership
- Design, review, and implement HR strategies, systems,
and tools that strengthen organizational performance.
- Guide leadership on HR planning, staffing, and policy
updates.
- Foster a culture rooted in Christian ethics,
transparency, teamwork, and excellence.
2.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Oversee transparent, fair, and legally compliant
recruitment processes.
- Lead job advertising, candidate screening,
interviewing, and onboarding.
- Ensure new staff receive a structured orientation
aligned with YFC values.
3.
Payroll, Compensation & HR Administration
- Supervise payroll preparation to guarantee timely and
accurate salary payment.
- Ensure correct statutory deductions (RSSB, PAYE, etc.)
and benefits administration.
- Maintain updated and confidential staff records using
HR systems/software.
4.
Performance Management & Staff Development
- Lead performance appraisal processes and support
managers in setting KPIs.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional
development programs.
- Promote growth pathways for teachers, administrators,
and support staff.
5.
Employee Relations, Welfare & Culture
- Foster a healthy, motivating, and Christ-centered work
environment.
- Address staff concerns, mediate conflicts, and
strengthen employee relations.
- Promote staff welfare initiatives that enhance
well-being and retention.
6.
Compliance, Reporting & HR Integrity
- Ensure full compliance with Rwanda labor laws,
organizational policies, and ethical standards.
- Prepare periodic HR reports for leadership and
contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Safeguard confidentiality, fairness, and integrity
across all HR activities.
Required Qualifications & Key Competencies
To be considered for this position,
applicants must possess:
Spiritual
& Ethical Requirements
- A mature, practicing Christian with strong
alignment to YFC/Rwanda’s values.
- High moral integrity, confidentiality, and
professionalism.
Academic
& Professional Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management
or Business Administration (HR option); Master’s degree is an added
advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR management
experience, preferably in education, nonprofit, or Christian-based
institutions.
Technical
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Rwandan labor laws, HR
compliance, and HR best practices.
- Experience in payroll management and performance
systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership
skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office.
