About the Regional Finance Coordinator Role
The Regional Finance Coordinator
will play a critical leadership role in ensuring accurate financial
management, compliance, supervision, and operational excellence within the AIM
Program.
You will oversee regional finance
operations, strengthen accountability systems, support field teams, and act as
a key bridge between the regional teams and the Country Office.
This role is perfect for someone
with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, leadership ability, and an
understanding of NGO finance standards.
Detailed Roles and Responsibilities
1.
Financial Management & Accountability
- Oversee all regional financial operations for the AIM
Program in Huye and Nyanza.
- Ensure transactions are properly reviewed, verified,
and approved before processing.
- Guarantee timely data entry and accuracy within BRAC’s
ERP accounting system.
- Support timely payments by monitoring the work of
Finance Officers.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation for all
financial records.
2.
Budgeting, Planning & Financial Reporting
- Assist the Finance, Grants Management and Compliance
Coordinator in budget planning.
- Track expenditure against approved budgets and support
variance analysis.
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc
financial reports.
- Provide accurate financial data for decision-making and
program improvement.
3.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure adherence to donor guidelines, BRAC policies,
and international financial standards.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard organizational
assets.
- Respond to and support internal and external audits.
- Ensure audit recommendations are properly implemented.
4.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
- Prepare monthly cash forecasts for both regions.
- Ensure efficient petty cash management and
reconciliation.
- Review and approve bank and cash reconciliation
statements prepared by officers.
- Maintain transparency and accountability in all cash
flow processes.
5.
Staff Supervision & Capacity Development
- Supervise and mentor Finance Officers in Huye and
Nyanza.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide on-the-job
coaching.
- Strengthen capacity of finance staff through continuous
training.
- Guide program teams on compliance, financial
procedures, and budgeting.
6.
Field Monitoring & Branch Oversight
- Conduct routine field visits to AIM branches in both
regions.
- Verify financial processes, branch payments, and cash
management practices.
- Offer on-site technical support to regional and branch
finance teams.
- Ensure financial procedures are strictly followed
across branches.
7.
Coordination, Networking & Communication
- Work closely with regional program teams to ensure
aligned financial operations.
- Share financial updates, risks, and action points with
the Country Office.
- Ensure timely submission of reports, documentation, and
reconciliations.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
BRAC places high emphasis on

- Promote a safe working environment free from abuse,
harassment, and exploitation.
- Act as a safeguarding champion within the team.
- Ensure safeguarding policies are implemented across all
activities.
- Report any safeguarding incident immediately following
BRAC procedures.

Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business
Administration, or related field.
- CPA (completed or in progress) is a strong advantage.
Core Skills, Competencies & Knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level
preferred).
- Strong hands-on experience supervising finance teams.
- Experience in ERP accounting software.
- Understanding of donor compliance, NGO financial
regulations, and reporting standards.
- Strong analytical, budgeting, and financial forecasting
skills.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational
abilities.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, budget planning, and
internal controls.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of practical experience in
finance or accounting.
- Prior experience working with NGOs or donor-funded
programs is highly preferred.
