The Projects and Communications
Officer will be at the heart of this effort. The person in this role will
ensure that:
- Projects are well-planned, executed, and monitored.

communicated to stakeholders and the public.

traditional media platforms.
- Partnerships with donors, NGOs, schools, and
communities are nurtured and supported.

Monday–Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (occasional evenings and weekends)
This is a two-year renewable
contract, offering the successful candidate an opportunity to grow with the
institution and make a meaningful contribution to Rwanda’s education sector.
Key
Responsibilities
The Projects and Communications
Officer will divide their time between project management, communications,
monitoring, and administrative support. Below is a detailed breakdown:
1.
Project Management
- Assist in the design, planning, and implementation
of projects and programs.
- Coordinate project activities across departments to
ensure smooth delivery.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones and
deliverables, and ensure timelines are met.
- Prepare regular progress reports and document
lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Support budget monitoring and financial reporting for
assigned projects.
- Facilitate collaboration with partners, donors, and
community organizations.
2.
Communications
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication
strategy for KPL.
- Produce high-quality content for social media platforms,
newsletters, press releases, and reports.
- Maintain and update the library’s website and
ensure it is user-friendly and engaging.
- Promote library programs and events through digital
campaigns and traditional media.
- Document events and initiatives through photography,
videography, and written reports.
- Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and
communication materials.
3.
Monitoring and Reporting
- Track the outcomes and impact of both projects and
communication campaigns.
- Produce monthly and quarterly reports for
internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft donor and partner reports to ensure compliance
with funding requirements.
4.
Administrative Support
- Assist in planning and logistics for events, meetings,
and workshops.
- Provide general support to the programs team as
required.
Required
Qualifications
To be considered for this role,
candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Project
Management, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of professional experience in
project coordination and communications, preferably in the education or
nonprofit sector.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication
skills in English, French, and Kinyarwanda.
- Proficiency in digital tools, including social
media management, content creation, and basic graphic design software.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time
management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as
collaboratively in a team environment.
