Job
Summary
The Assistant Manager for Energy,
Environment & Climate Change (EE&CC) will help drive Equity Bank’s
mission of promoting sustainable development, renewable energy, and
climate-conscious investments.
This position focuses on developing
and managing green finance projects, strengthening environmental
partnerships, and enhancing the bank’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and
Governance) performance.
It’s an ideal opportunity for
professionals who are passionate about clean energy, climate finance, and
sustainable banking.
Key
Responsibilities
In this role, you will work closely
with the EE&CC team to support impactful environmental and energy projects.
Your duties will include:
- Supporting the smooth execution of all Energy,
Environment & Climate Change pillar activities.
- Identifying new opportunities that help Equity Bank
achieve its energy and climate goals.
- Building and maintaining partnerships with renewable
energy and environmental organizations to de-risk projects.
- Supporting and coordinating green energy, environmental
conservation, and WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene)
initiatives.
- Assisting the Pillar Lead and Programs Manager in
developing project proposals and impact monitoring tools.
- Facilitating financial, informational, and market
linkages that grow the energy ecosystem.
- Connecting clients and partners to ensure seamless
customer experience in sustainability projects.
- Coordinating and participating in ESG and sustainability
training programs for staff, partners, and clients.
- Tracking and reporting on the overall performance of
the EE&CC pillar.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Line
Manager.
Required
Qualifications and Experience
Education
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s
degree in one of the following areas:
- Business Administration
- Renewable or Sustainable Energy
- Environmental Sciences
- Climate or Sustainable Finance
- Or any related field
Strong communication, writing, and
interpersonal skills are essential.
Experience
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience
in a reputable organization, preferably in energy projects, sustainable
finance, or environmental management.
- Experience working on green financing, climate
adaptation, or ESG programs will be an added advantage.
