Position Overview: Agriculture Credit Analyst

This position plays a vital role in
strengthening agricultural lending
within the bank. You will assess, structure, and monitor credit facilities for
agribusiness clients with financing needs ranging between RWF 300 million and RWF 500 million.
The ideal candidate will use sector expertise
to ensure that loans are well-structured, sustainable, and aligned with the
realities of agricultural production cycles.
Main Responsibilities
As an Agriculture
Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for:
·
Conducting comprehensive financial and risk analysis for
agribusiness clients (farmers, processors, and distributors).
·
Integrating seasonality, crop cycles, and market fluctuations into
your credit assessments.
·
Structuring tailored loan facilities with
flexible repayment schedules and risk
mitigants suitable for the agriculture sector.
·
Monitoring the agricultural loan portfolio and
detecting early warning signs
such as yield shortfalls, adverse weather, or price changes.
·
Collaborating closely with Relationship Managers, agronomists, and
regulators to maintain strong due diligence standards.
·
Managing large
volumes of client files efficiently without compromising analysis
quality.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants
must have:
·
A Bachelor’s
degree in Finance, Agribusiness, Economics, or any related field.
·
3 to 5 years
of experience working with agricultural credit or agribusiness finance
in a recognized financial institution.
·
Proven ability to handle loan portfolios ranging between RWF 300M
and 500M.
·
Good understanding of BNR (National Bank of Rwanda) regulations and commodity
financing principles.
·
Strong knowledge of agricultural value chains, including crop, livestock,
and agri-processing sectors.
Core Competencies
·
Advanced skills in credit structuring and risk evaluation.
·
Excellent understanding of agribusiness seasonality and cash-flow
cycles.
·
Ability to conduct financial modeling and stress testing.
·
Strong analytical
and report writing skills.
·
Great attention to detail and time management.
