About EquiFarm

EquiFarm is Equity Bank Rwanda’s flagship digital agriculture platform, designed to onboard, empower, and connect smallholder farmers and cooperatives. It provides access to tailored financial services, technical support, and market linkages, while also collecting data to boost productivity and financial inclusion across Rwanda’s agricultural ecosystem.

The platform plays a key role in promoting digital transformation in agriculture, helping farmers improve yields, access markets, and achieve financial independence.

Job Purpose

The EquiFarm Assistant Manager will oversee the strategic management, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement of the EquiFarm digital platform. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing farmer onboarding, and ensuring the platform delivers measurable value.

The ideal candidate should have strong project management expertise, a solid understanding of IT systems, and experience in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) within agriculture or digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Management & Development

·       Oversee daily operations and performance of the EquiFarm platform.

·       Coordinate platform updates and enhancements with IT teams and external vendors.

·       Ensure system stability, user satisfaction, and data integrity.

2. Farmer & Cooperative Onboarding

·       Lead the digital onboarding of farmers and cooperatives.

·       Collaborate with field officers and agri-finance teams to identify and qualify beneficiaries.

·       Support farmer groups in understanding and using the platform.

3. Project Management

·       Plan, implement, and monitor projects aligned with EquiFarm’s strategic goals.

·       Prepare detailed work plans, budgets, and progress reports.

·       Ensure effective project execution and stakeholder coordination.

4. Monitoring & Evaluation

·       Develop M&E frameworks to track platform usage, productivity, and impact.

·       Analyze data and prepare reports for strategic decision-making.

·       Use insights to refine operations and improve platform performance.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

·       Liaise with government agencies, NGOs, donors, and agri-tech partners.

·       Represent Equity Bank Rwanda in digital agriculture forums and stakeholder meetings.

·       Build strong partnerships to enhance agricultural innovation.

6. Training & Capacity Building

·       Design and conduct training sessions for internal teams and farmer cooperatives.

·       Lead digital literacy and platform adoption initiatives in rural areas.

Qualifications, Experience, and Key Attributes

·       Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Project Management, Information Technology, or related field.

·       At least 3 years of experience in project management, digital product management, or agriculture-related platforms.

·       Strong understanding of agricultural value chains, digital inclusion, and financial services for farmers.

·       Proven experience in digital platform management and translating business needs into technical solutions.

·       Hands-on experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of digital or agricultural programs.

·       Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.

·       Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.

·       Knowledge of rural farming ecosystems and smallholder challenges.

·       Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an added advantage).

·       Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and rural settings.
