As
a Company Driver, you will not only ensure that staff and materials reach their
destinations safely, but you will also support the technical aspects of our
operations when off the road. This makes your role essential to the success of
our entire team.
Position Details
- Job Title: Company Driver
- Reports to: Fleet Manager
- Location: Rwanda
- Work Schedule: Monday to
Saturday (with flexibility as assigned by management)
Key Responsibilities
As
a Company Driver at WARwanda, you will:
- Operate company
vehicles to safely transport staff, visitors, and materials as assigned.
- Deliver and pick
up packages, documents, and other official items on behalf of the company.
- Respond to
transport requests within 15–20 minutes during official work hours.
- Ensure assigned
vehicles are always in excellent working condition, safe, clean, and
secure.
- Conduct daily
vehicle checks and promptly report any maintenance needs.
- Complete the
vehicle logbook daily, recording each trip and movement accurately.
- Collaborate
closely with managers to implement the company’s fleet management plan.
- Support
technical tasks, audits, and inspections during non-driving hours (training
provided by the technical team).
- Abide by all
traffic rules, safety regulations, and company procedures.
Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualifications
- High school
diploma or equivalent certification.
- Valid Rwandan
driving license in categories B, C, D, or F.
- At least 3
years of professional driving experience (preferably in corporate or
NGO settings).
Technical & Hard Skills
- Basic mechanical
knowledge and ability to perform routine checks.
- Good knowledge
of Rwandan traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time
management and ability to plan efficient routes.
Soft Skills & Personal Attributes
- Trustworthiness – Honest,
reliable, and dependable in all situations.
- Accountability – Takes
responsibility for assigned tasks and assets.
- Multitasking
ability
– Able to balance driving responsibilities with technical support duties.
- Team player – Works well
with managers, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Adaptability – Flexible and
willing to work extra hours when required.
Compensation & Benefits
We
value the contributions of our staff and offer competitive compensation
packages based on experience and position level.
New Driver-Level
- Net salary: RWF 113,928
(after statutory deductions).
- Access to
communication cards and staff support services.
Experienced Driver-Level
- Net salary: RWF 151,952
(after statutory deductions).
- Retention bonus: RWF
35,000/month (accessible after 3 months of probation, with a 3-year
cliff).
Driver Technician-Level
- Gross salary: RWF 165,340
(subject to deductions).
- Transport
allowance:
RWF 83,900/month.
- Retention pay: RWF
35,000/month (subject to tax).
