About the Opportunity

Are you ambitious, hardworking, and ready to start a technical career in water services? We are offering an exciting Regional Technician Apprentice position designed to train and prepare motivated individuals for a long-term career in the technical field.

Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive 6-month training program, acquiring hands-on skills in water system operations, equipment maintenance, and customer service. This role requires living and working outside Kigali, making it a great fit for those ready to serve regional communities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Regional Technician Apprentice, you will learn and contribute to the following areas:

Control Downtime Hours

  • Minimize service interruptions by identifying and solving issues quickly
  • Implement preventive maintenance strategies
  • Use downtime data to improve future operations

Water Quality Management

  • Ensure safe and clean water supply in assigned regions
  • Conduct regular filter changes, chlorine refills, tank cleanups, and water testing

Equipment Maintenance

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment used in water supply
  • Replace faulty parts when necessary to ensure operational efficiency

Pipeline Maintenance

  • Monitor for water losses, leaks, or damages
  • Undertake repairs and replacements to maintain a reliable water distribution system

 Customer Engagement

  • Onboard new users (public and private)
  • Manage CRM duties, advocating for users while representing the company’s services

Qualifications

To qualify for this apprenticeship, you should have:

  • High School Diploma (minimum requirement)
  • Background in a technical field (preferred)
  • Willingness to live and work outside Kigali
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Good attention to detail and accountability
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Benefits & Compensation

  • Monthly facilitation of RWF 125,000 (to cover transport, food, and temporary accommodation)
  • Access to work sites and training facilities
  • Practical hands-on experience in technical water services
  • Please note: No additional compensation or benefits are provided. Successful candidates will be required to sign a waiver acknowledging this arrangement.
